Company's enhanced air cargo event messaging solution provides enhanced air cargo flight status and track-and-trace visibility, simplifying the set-up and management of event messages
Portland, Ore. May 3, 2004 Conducive Technology Corp., a leader in advanced Web Services-based flight information and decision support tools for the transportation and logistics industries, today introduced the Pathfinder Event Messaging Module, a full-featured event messaging solution, dramatically improving air cargo event visibility.
Integrated into the company's entire family of Pathfinder air cargo decision support solutions, the Pathfinder Event Messaging Module tracks flight, airport and package status, routing event messages to the appropriate parties within a user's organization. The messages can also be easily routed to legacy systems for direct integration with existing applications. The Pathfinder Event Messaging Module is the most complete solution of its kind. By combining flight status with track-and-trace information, Pathfinder now delivers messages that tell shippers not only whether their flight has left on time, but also whether their package made it on the flight.
Today, many shippers rely on a patchwork of monitoring systems and processes that struggle to provide complete information in real-time, or to identify exceptions to plans. The Pathfinder Event Messaging Module is a process monitoring system for tracking air cargo shipments, integrating multiple sources of data to produce a much higher level of visibility. The module combines the three elements necessary for effective event management: the power to set up monitoring rules; the ability to ์listen๎ for events that meet such rules; and the capability to route resulting messages via custom logic to the appropriate parties or systems in a user-defined format. While this system can detect and send a variety of messages, it is most useful for identifying exceptions ๑ those events where shipments are not progressing as expected, and where action may need to be taken.

A Wide Array of Supported Messages
Event messages supported in the product include airport notifications such as closure, ground stop, ground delay, general arrival delay and general departure delays. The notification system triggers messages for those events and thresholds specified in the notification rule. Flight status event triggers include wheels up, wheels down, change in flight plan, flight delayed by more than a specified time, and an automatic check flight status prior to departure.
The Pathfinder Event Messaging Module is available today for customers who would like to integrate event messaging into their current systems using Pathfinder-XML. Messages can be delivered via e-mail, XML-HTTP and SOAP. A .NET example for handling messages is provided through an ASP.NET SOAP connectivity toolkit. The Pathfinder Event Messaging Module will soon be available as a separate module in Pathfinder-CD.
